MKGSA Groundwater Sustainability Plan Revisions
On January 28, 2022 the Kaweah Subbasin GSAs received an Incomplete Determination from the California Department of Water Resources regarding the Mid-Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agenda (MKGSA) Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). The groundwater sustainability agencies (GSAs) in the Kaweah Subbasin were given 180-days to address the concerns outlined in the letter.
MKGSA GSP Revisions
The MKGSA has worked with the Greater Kaweah GSA and the East Kaweah GSA to address the revisions noted in the Incomplete Determination Letter from DWR. The three GSAs management, staff, legal counsels, and consultants have been meeting weekly to develop a revised approach to the Chronic Lowering of Groundwater Levels, Subsidence, and Interconnected Surface Waters. The revised technical work and revisions to the GSPs are provided below.
