EQIP WaterSMART Grants
Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Water- Sustain and Manage American Resources for Tomorrow
On-Farm project grant that improves irrigation & water efficiency! A few On-Farm project ideas can be:
- Micro-irrigation system installation/ upgrade
- Irrigation Pipeline installation/ upgrade
- Irrigation Reservoir
- Cover Crop
- Windbreaks/ Hedgerows
Attention: Only Tulare Irrigation District farmers are elligible for this funding source.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) recognized groundwater depletion as a resource concern. NRCS would like to incentivize groundwater recharge on a larger scale initiated by landowners.
The Three Groundwater Recharge Practices funded:
1. Groundwater Recharge Basin
2. Groundwater Recharge Trench
3. On-Farm Recharge

Multibenefit Land Repurposing Program – Development Project Solicitation
The Kaweah Multibenefit Land Repurposing Program (MLRP) is a subsect of the whole MLRP program funded under the California Department of Conservation (DOC). The Kaweah MLRP have a website where the application guidelines are availabe!
Attention: The whole Kaweah Subbasin area is elligible for this funding source.
Ag West Farm Credit – New Producer Grant
One time $15,000 to support operation growth for new/ newer producers.

Arva Intelligence – Corn & Alfalfa Producers Grant
The Arva Intelligence Corp is company that connects the supply chain, empowers farmers and corporations to regenerate the Earth through resilient food systems. Arva Intelligence has parntered with Netafim (Orbia) to provide a Corn & Alfalfa Producers Grant. This grant provides a very unique opportunity for farmers growing corn silage and alfalfa this year to earn $13-22 per acre.
Growers need to have 2 or more of the following practices:
- Cover Cropping
- No-Till, Minimum/Reduced Tillage
- Split Applied Nitrogen
- Use of Nitrogen Inhibitors
- VRT (variable rate technology)
- Manure application
- Nutrient Management Plan
- Integrated Disease / Weed or Pest Management (IDM/IWM/IPM)

~ Micro-irrigation System
~ Irrigation Reservoir
~ Cover Crop
~ Windbreaks and Hedgerows
USDA: EQIP - WaterSMART Flier
Tulare Irrigation District, Lindsay-Strathmore Irrigation District, Lower Tule River Irrigation District, Delano-Earlimart Irrigation District and Westlands Water District landowners are able to apply to this funding source.

2024 Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQUIP) WaterSMART
EQIP is available to Tulare ID, Ivanhoe ID, Pixley ID and Delano-Earlimart ID. Through this program, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offers funding to improve water conservation and irrigation water use efficiency on eligible farms.
